During the show, Hough and Union both were excessively subjected based on their physical appearance. According to Variety, Union was allegedly told that her ever-changing hairstyle is too black for the show and audience. Further, Gabrielle received this complaint many times.

On the other hand, Julianne reportedly was judged for her makeup, hair, and wardrobe. Also, Gabrielle complained that Simon smokes indoors. Union said that she is allergic to cigarette smoke.
